Founder & Immigration Attorney

Anita Koumriqian Piper is an experienced immigration attorney with more than a decade of experience in immigration law, representing individuals, families, startups, and multinational organizations in a wide range of immigration matters.

Born in Iraq of Armenian heritage, Anita understands firsthand the challenges, uncertainty, and resilience that often accompany the immigration journey. Watching members of her family and community navigate complex legal systems inspired her to become the kind of trusted advocate and advisor families could rely on during life-changing moments.

Anita’s practice includes both family-based and employment-based immigration, with experience handling visas, green cards, citizenship matters, consular processing, waivers, and complex immigration strategy. She has also advised companies across industries including technology, biotech, healthcare, fintech, and e-commerce on immigration planning and workforce needs.

Professional Experience

Anita began her immigration career as a law clerk in 2012 while attending Santa Clara University School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2015. During law school, she served as counsel in the Ninth Circuit Pro Bono Program, where she prepared an asylum brief and argued a client’s case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Before founding Ari Immigration, Anita held leadership and partner-level roles at prominent immigration firms, where she managed high-volume immigration practices and supervised teams across multiple offices.

In addition to her legal practice, Anita is a frequent speaker on immigration law developments and has presented at conferences and professional events through the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and other organizations. She has also been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for multiple consecutive years.
